Joan Werleman, DDS
Hello, I am Dr. Werleman. I was born in Holland and raised on the Dutch island of Aruba. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Loyola University in New Orleans in 1988. I then obtained my doctorate’s degree in 1992 from the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious dental institution. After receiving my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, I completed a General Practice Residency at York Hospital in 1993, and founded Dr. Werleman & Associates in 1995 after 2 years of community and public health service at Southeast Lancaster Health Services.
I have also completed a mini-residency training in Dental Sleep Medicine at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA from October 2014 – April 2015. The curriculum covered in-depth and detailed training in all aspect of sleep medicine and cranio facial pain and TMJ as it pertains to dental sleep medicine and the role dentists can play in helping treating patients with obstructive sleep apnea. The training involved lectures from doctors and clinicians in the Boston area including Harvard School of Medicine.
My entire team and I actively attend continuing education courses on a regular basis, and we are fully up-to-date on the latest practices and technology. I am a participating member in several professional associations, including:

I enjoy visiting and spending time with my family in Aruba. On the weekends I can be found enjoying kayaking, biking, yoga, golf and traveling. I recently became a 200hr RYT Certified Yoga Instructor and have shared with many the healing and calming effect of the yoga practice. My three dogs Bailey, Retro, and Phantom keep me very busy with flyball competitions traveling throughout USA and Canada.
Jeffrey Rajaski, DDS
I received my Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland Dental School. I completed a two year residency at the University of Maryland Medical center where I received training in anesthesiology, head & neck oncology reconstruction, implantology and facial trauma surgery. After a short time in private practice I returned to the University of Maryland Medical Center to serve as the Division Head of Hospital Dentistry and Director of the Hospital’s Dental Residency Program.
I am an active member of numerous academic groups including the American Dental Association, the Maryland and Pennsylvania State Dental Associations, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. I also currently sit of on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Although I have returned to private practice, I still maintain part-time associate professor and clinical instructor positions at the Dental School’s Advanced General Dentistry Residency Program providing anesthesiology services for the University’s various post-graduate residency programs. I also teach dental students in the University’s dental clinic in Baltimore, MD and satellite clinic in Frederick, MD. I conducts research in multiple fields, but focus my attention on anesthesiology, implants and new material testing and I have published numerous articles.
I reside in South Central Pennsylvania and have two daughters. I enjoy to fill my free time with playing the guitar, golfing, snow skiing, fishing and water sports .
